While images definitely make a page more appealing to the eye, they are also an important aspect to effective search engine optimization. Although it is not exactly known how many words and keywords Google makes of an image, it has been found that Google can read text from images. As a result, this may have a significant impact on ones rankings and Google Image Search status in the future.


The following tips have been found to help optimize images for SEO while also increasing website speed and overall SEO

  1. Chose the right image format 
  2. Optimize image file weight
  3. Save images at smaller resolutions
  4. Resize images to scale
  5. Reduce the file size using plugins
  6. Remove any irrelevant or unneeded metadata
  7. Name your image and add alt descriptions for SEO success
  8. Use SVG files to have a higher clarity and lighter website
Ultimately, the goal is to implement each of these steps to help optimize your visual content  and improve your SEO efforts. With constantly changing algorithms, Google's ability to read and rank images will only improve in the future as images will be essential to effective SEO.

MKTG 3345 week 4-Go Mobile

This week for class, I dived a little bit deeper into a Google Analytics account to analyze a variety of information. I was specifically focused on comparing the amount fo desktop users to mobile users. To do so, I first set the date range to include the last 30 days. After that, I navigated to the left side of the page where I clicked on the button Audience. A drop down button appeared and I selected Mobile Overview. As you can see in the chart above, information is separated based on desktop and mobile users. This information shows that there have been 130 desktop users and 23 mobile users in the last 30 days. Other metrics like new users, bounce rate, and session duration are also measured. All of these metrics can help companies better understand how users are viewing their content and which method may be more effective for them.
